Living Romantics
The second program, “Living Romantics,” presents all works by living composers. The museum’s collection of works from the 20th century comes largely from the first half of the 20th century or from the 1960’s and ‘70’s, as does Sofia Gubaidulina’s Chaconne. Sheila Silver’s Preludes come form 1991, and the other three pieces were all composed in ust the last few years. Overall, this program represents a connection with the museum’s collection in the Gubaidulina and then a tangent into musical contemporary art through the present day.
